Housing sales fall sharply in June…Yes!

I’m not surprised… and I expect the trend to continue for the rest of 2010…

Sales down 8.2% from May 2010 which makes it 2 consecutive months of declining sales…somewhat unusual because May is the seasonal (& annual) high for sales… (i.e. more houses are sold in May than any other month…)

Prices are down 1.2% from May 2010 but up 4.9% from June 2009… remember that prices went up from April to May 2010

So this is the first month where prices and sales are both down compared to the previous month…

“The housing market is becoming more challenging for sellers,” said CREA president Georges Pahud
